An initiative of the first scholars of the Onassis Foundation, the Scholars' Association was established in Athens in 1986. The main aim of the Association is to enrol graduates who have completed their studies with a scholarship awarded by the Foundation, with a view to promoting knowledge, social justice and culture through its activities.
Since its foundation up until today, the Scholars' Association boasts a rich activity that includes the organisation of events, initiatives for actions, and the dissemination of the Scholars' achievements in all fields of science and art.
The Scholars' Association currently numbers more than 2200 scholars, both Greeks and non-Greeks, that have been awarded research grants and scholarships.
The members of the Association are notable figures in the fields of literature, science and art who live, work and excel in Greece and abroad. It is a strong and dynamic community of distinguished academics and active professionals.
